I recently had the first service done on my i30 1.6 crdi and was amazed to find it cost nearly £160 for what amounted to little more than an oil and filter change,i shudder to think how much the next one will be!!

No doubt they would claim that they checked your car over for any oter problems but it's still a heck of a lot to pay. How much of the bill was for parts? Was it just oil, oil filter and air filter?

As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Apart from the oil and filter, they used an engine flush and injector/pump additive plus a door lock lube(we just used an oil can when i did the job in the 70's!!)
I assume labour was around the £90/hr mark, the only other thing that was done were visual checks and an adjustment of the handbrake, which to me was ok!Anxious
